The Return Of The King

If you've never seen this movie - shame on you. If you have, you'll know what I'm talking about. If you're the biggest fan in the whole wide world, you'll share in my emotions that go along with this quote.

Before the king returns, before the end of all evil, just as the night seems the darkest, Pippin looks to Gandalf for courage to make it through the night. The small exchange they have reminds me of what it would be like in our last day. What we should be like. Looking beyond death's door. For a life much greater than before. One that's worth waiting for...And no I didn't mean to rhyme. That's just how it came out...stop laughing, you're ruining the moment.

Here's what happens...

"Pippin: I didn't think it would end this way.

Gandalf: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path... One that we all must take.
The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass... And then you see it.

Pippin: What? Gandalf?... See what?

Gandalf: White shores... and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.

Pippin: [smiling] Well, that isn't so bad.

Gandalf: [softly] No... No it isn't. "

And if just reading doesn't do it justice....

Now, if you didn't get chills or tear up...or even fall over sobbing. Just ignore this post all together. Or go read a book. Maybe even this book.
